Mark Baker is a Michigan based designer and artist. His current studio combines his experiences as an exhibition designer, sculptor, photographer, art director, fabricator, furniture designer, and carpenter. He worked as the Head Preparator and Exhibition Designer at Cranbrook Art Museum (Bloomfield Hills, MI) from 2011-2017. He received his Master of Fine Arts in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art, and completed his undergraduate studies in studio art & art history at Cornell College. Mark has worked professionally for local and national clients as an exhibition maker, fabricator, and art handler. His exhibition designs have been seen in Michigan, New York, Florida, and Iowa, and his studio work has been exhibited at several venues including the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York. In addition to his studio practice, Mark regularly consults with museums and institutions including the Sloan Museum (Flint, MI), Grand Rapids Art Museum (Grand Rapids, MI) and the University of Michigan-Flint (Flint, MI).
